"Our focus is giving you the quality shed you deserve at a fair price."
OUR APPROACH
Atlas Shed builds well-designed, solid, attractive storage sheds, with the features you want.
We focus on what really matters in construction: quality basics! We can always add more bells-and-whistles, but it’s the quality basics that determine the durability and practicality of the structure. So, that’s our focus here at Atlas Shed.
We build sheds with:
• Foundation (included in the quote, as it should be!)
• Heavy duty floors built according to code. We use CDX plywood for the floor sheeting. We do not use or recommend OSB sheeting, which tends to rapidly deteriorate when exposed to moisture.
•Walls built to residential construction best practices; 16″ O.C. (on center) studs, double top-plates, fastened according to IRC (International Residential Code), just like your home!
• Engineered roof trusses (although ridge beams are strong, they cost more and are overkill)
• Optional Features allowing customized appointments tailored to your unique shed.
• None of the restrictions, common with other shed builders, leading to increased cost, or even unavailability.
• Simple and attractive designs.
At Atlas Shed, we take pride in delivering products you can depend on. So, get an Atlas Shed and experience how good dependability feels! We believe the key to a long-lasting shed is the source. For that reason, we follow the construction industry best building practices. All materials are hand-selected and evaluated for quality.

Look For This In a Quality Shed
- A beefy, heavy duty floor that will not rot:
- Use Heartwood Grade Redwood. This will handle just about any load and will not rot.
- Use CDX Plywood instead of OSB. OSB is prone to swelling around the edges if it ever gets wet.
- Look for 16" O.C. (on center) studs
- Required by most sidings.
- Increases structure stability.
- The shed should be well-designed, but not OVER-DESIGNED.
- Why add additional expense for no reason?
- Un-insulated storage sheds don't need the added expense of dual pane windows. Single pane windows are fine.
- Ridge beams are strong, but they cost more. Properly built trusses will more than do the job.
- Elaborate trims and overhangs add expense and aren't typically needed on a storage shed.
WHO IS ATLAS SHED?
TOM HECHMER
I'm an "old" construction specialist guy with more than thirty years of experience in the field. I've worn all the different hats possible in residential construction, from entry-level framer, to crew leader, to project manager. I've worked for residential builders, built estates as a private developer, first on the West Side of Los Angeles, and, since 2008, here in the Bay Area. In 2022, I teamed up with an "old" IT guy, Roy Green, to build high quality sheds. Roy's vision for high quality customer service and simple solid products neatly aligned with my own. With my background in Residential Construction, we made improvements to an already good looking shed, taking it to the next level. Roy had set up the tech, I agreed to deliver the product. Roy has moved on to other interests, I continue the reputation.
